The Connie Rutledge Legacy Fund (CRLF) is a special pool of money, managed by the CRLF Committee and administered by WOCA, that provides financial assistance to women with any type of gynecological cancer.
CRLF mission is threefold:
• Assist individuals with financial support to offset the costs of cancer treatments and other expenses when diagnosed with ovarian cancer or undergoing treatments for ovarian cancer (and gynecological cancers).
• Unite with our community and work together to promote awareness of ovarian cancer.
• Financially support research endeavors at the Regional Cancer Research Institutes in connection with ovarian cancer to improve the survival rates for women with ovarian cancer.
Tee Up For Cancer is Connie Rutledge Legacy Fund’s primary fundraiser and source of income to support the CRLF mission. Funds received from the Sandra Schultz: A Lasting Legacy Campaign also helps fund the CRLF.
It is through your support and generosity that together we have recently surpassed $615,000 in grants for ovarian/gynecological cancer awareness, research and direct financial support to those undergoing treatment and experiencing financial hardship.
Thank you for your help in impacting women in need and advancements in ovarian/gynecological enlightenment.

About Connie Rutledge
In 2007 Connie Rutledge was diagnosed with Stage IIIC ovarian cancer. After diagnoses Connie, and accomplished teacher, coach and principal, found empowerment through devoting herself to learning everything about this cancer. Through her knowledge and fellowships she developed with others also impacted by ovarian and other gynecological cancers, she became keenly aware of the need to increase awareness and knowledge of these cancers. Also, she witnessed first-hand the financial burden it created for many women and their families.
In March of 2010 she founded the Ovarian Cancer Community Outreach Inc. with 3 main missions: increase awareness of ovarian cancer; support Wisconsin based National Cancer Research Institute efforts for ovarian cancer, and to support women in financial need undergoing treatment for ovarian/gynecological cancers. Connie passed away September of 2010 and the OCCO board continued fulfilling the mission.
In 2020 OCCO partnered with the Wisconsin Ovarian Cancer Alliance and created the Connie Rutledge Legacy Fund. This successful partnership has enabled Connie’s mission to continue to grow and reach even further into serving our Wisconsin communities.
The Connie Rutledge Legacy Fund falls under WOCA’s 501(c)(3) status as a tax-exempt organization as recognized by the Internal Revenue Code.

About Sandra Schultz
Sandra Schultz lost her battle with recurrent ovarian cancer in July of 2024 at the age of 61.
Sandra was a mother of four, grandmother of five, and always put others ahead of herself. When her youngest started elementary school, she focused on giving back to the community. She spent countless hours working on numerous causes affecting teens. Initially, her efforts were focused on her local school district, but eventually morphed to the county and state levels. Her work was focused on student stress, drug use, addiction, drug collection, and parental education.
Sandra was selfless, had incredible energy, and always maintained a positive attitude. In her final years, months and weeks, dealing with her disease, she considered herself fortunate that her condition and support system was so much better than many of the cancer patients she encountered.
As a legacy to Sandra’s life, her kindness, her positivity, and her desire to help others, Sandra’s family wants to financially assist disadvantaged cancer patients. Her family felt fortunate to learn that WOCA has programs that align 100% with the family goals of helping underprivileged women struggling with GYN cancers. Contributions to Sandra’s Lasting Legacy will directly benefit the Wisconsin Ovarian Cancer Alliance. Specifically, they will support the Connie Rutledge Legacy Fund (CRLF) and the Hope for the Holidays- Adopt a Family Campaign. These two programs provide much-needed financial and emotional support to individuals undergoing treatment for gynecologic cancer.
Sandra was a very bright light, had an infectious smile and laugh, and tried to make every day great. She would be proud to know her kindness and generosity lives on.
